The Occupational First Aid program was created by WorkSafe BC to meet the needs of industry, based on historical data of workplace injuries. Its primary focus is on workplace injuries. As such, most of the class time is spent on the assessment and treatment of traumatic injuries, minor wounds, and occupational safety and health paperwork.

ABOUT THIS COURSE …
8 hours
3-year certification in BC Workplace Emergency First Aid
Conducted by a certified Red Cross First Aid Instructor A Canadian Red Cross Certification Card is issued to completed students at the end of the course
COURSE PREREQUISITES…
Students must be at least 16 years of age and be able to understand and perform the first aid skills required at this level.
EVALUATION…
Continuous evaluation throughout the course based on hands-on experience and scenario practice
Students must recognize and respond to the emergencies as identified in course content with a 75% success rate and correctly answer 75% of the knowledge evaluation. A formative written examination is a requirement of WorkSafe BC.

Dara Allen Enterprises courses are taught using a hands on approach and stimulating environment
Training is individualized and every participant receives feedback to facilitate skill retention and confidence
There is no recertification process; students are required to retake the 8-hour program every 3 years.
