Level A or C, prevention of disease transmission) to in-depth topics, such as sudden medical
conditions and injuries to the head and spine

• Focus is on infant/child environments and how to keep them safe

ABOUT THIS COURSE …
• 16 to 20 hours
• 3-year certification in Standard Child Care First Aid & CPR Level A or C
• Includes AED (Automated External Defibrillation) certification
• Conducted by a certified Red Cross First Aid Instructor of Dara Allen Enterprises.
• Course includes the NEW Canadian Red Cross Child Care First Aid & CPR Manual
• A Canadian Red Cross Certification Card is issued to completed students at the end of the
course
COURSE PREREQUISITES…
• Anyone can participate, no prior experience necessary! No prerequisite or pre-course
assignment is required.
EVALUATION…
• Continuous evaluation throughout the course based on hands-on experience and scenario
practice
• 50 question multiple choice exam may be administered as per the instructors discretion

• Dara Allen Enterprises courses are taught using a hands on approach and stimulating
environment
• Training is individualized and every participant receives feedback to facilitate skill retention
and confidence
• Red Cross Standard Child Care Courses are recognized under the Canadian Labour Code
Regulations and meet the OH&S Guidelines for federal government agencies and national
workplaces across the country. In Alberta this course meets the standards of the Alberta
Family & Social Services Department.
